Terms of service

The agreement between your firm and Corro for using the service. Plain language first; counsel will settle the final wording.

Draft — under legal review. This page is a working draft written in plain language. It has not been reviewed by counsel and may change before it takes effect.

Items in [square brackets] are for counsel to complete: the legal entity, governing law and liability terms.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms are between [Corro legal entity] ("Corro", "we") and the law firm or organisation that creates an account ("your firm", "you"). The person who accepts them confirms they may bind the firm.

2. What Corro does

Corro reads a case file that your firm brings to it, from Clio Manage or from files you upload, and presents it as a dashboard with sources, a checker, a graph, an assistant called Cory, and pages your firm can share with treating providers. Corro reads from Clio and does not write to it.

3. Accounts

  • Each person uses their own account. Keep passwords private and tell us if you suspect misuse.
  • Your firm's owner controls the firm's account and its deletion. The owner and admins manage members and billing; only the owner can take the money-back guarantee.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your firm's accounts and for whom you share provider links with.

4. Subscription, billing and the guarantee

  • The sample case and the guided tour are free. Using Corro on your own cases needs a subscription, priced per user per month and billed through Stripe.
  • Every active member of your firm counts as a user, the owner and admins included. Changes in users are prorated on the next invoice.
  • The subscription includes a monthly allowance of pages read per user, shared across the firm; a page is counted once, the first time Corro reads it, and Clio notes and emails count at 3,000 characters a page. Reading packs are one-time, prepaid purchases of extra pages read, made only when the firm's owner or an admin chooses; they are never charged automatically and are not covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee. Pack pages are used after the pages included for the month, oldest pack first, and do not expire while your firm is subscribed. If a pack's payment is refunded or disputed through your card issuer, that pack's unused pages are removed. The packs offered today are 1,000 pages for $50 or 10,000 pages for $350. Current figures are on the pricing page.
  • Cory and the checker are included within a fair-use allowance per user each month; past it, Cory pauses and the checker keeps running its code-only checks.
  • 30-day money-back guarantee: Within 30 days of your first payment, your firm's owner can get back everything you have paid for your subscription, from the Billing page, once per firm; the subscription ends at once. Extra page packs are not covered. The full rule is in the refund policy, which forms part of these terms.
  • You can cancel from the Billing page at any time through Stripe's billing portal.
  • [Price changes: notice period and how it is given.]

5. Your data

  • Your firm's data is yours. You give us permission to store and process it only to run the service for you, including sending documents to our AI provider to be read (see the privacy policy and the security page).
  • You confirm you are entitled to bring the case files into Corro, and to share what you share with providers, under your duties to your clients and the law.
  • An owner can delete the firm and everything in it at any time from Settings; it is removed within 24 hours. If you cancel or take the refund, your cases stay readable, read-only, for 30 days in case you come back; after that they are permanently deleted. The sample case stays available. Deletion removes data from the live system; backup copies held by our hosting provider, encrypted at rest, can outlast it, and the security page will state for how long once the launch host is chosen.

6. What Corro's output is, and is not

  • Corro reports what the file says. Summaries, verdicts, chronologies and answers can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not legal advice.
  • Every fact is meant to be checked against its source, which Corro links. Your firm remains responsible for its work product and for what it sends.

7. Acceptable use

  • Do not try to reach another firm's data, probe or disrupt the service beyond reporting a problem to us in good faith, or use Corro for anything unlawful.
  • Do not resell or give access to people outside your firm, other than through provider links.

8. Other services

Corro relies on services we do not control, including Clio (your source of matters), OpenAI (reading), Stripe (payment), Resend (email) and our hosting providers. Their availability and terms can affect Corro.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep Corro available and may change or improve it. [Service level, if any; notice of material changes.]

10. Ending the agreement

You can cancel at any time. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms, with notice where we reasonably can. What happens to data on cancellation is set out in section 5.

11. Liability

[Disclaimers, limitation of liability and indemnities, for counsel.]

12. Governing law

[Governing law and venue, for counsel.]
